Soda Blasting

Soda blasting is a soft blasting technique. This has primarily to do with the use of Armex (a bicarbonate which consists for 99% of the same material as baking powder) and the way the swirling technique applies Armex on the surface that needs to be cleaned.


Use of soda blasting on various surfaces

Armex is being used in order to clean a variety of surfaces or to remove paint or glue from different surfaces:
  • Aluminium
  • Steel
  • Plastics
  • Concrete
  • Marble
  • Glass
Different compositions are available, depending on the surface to be treated.


Benefits of soda blasting

  • The Armex chrystal is soft and brittle and does not damage the small parts.
  • Soda blasting prevents production shut-downs. Armex is not inflammable and can be used in risk areas without having to stop the production.
  • Soda blasting is ideal for locations that are difficult to access because you don’t use chemicals, H2O and manual labor.
  • Superior cleaning delivers a clean surface, which is essential for a correct adhesion of eventual paint applications later.
  • Less waste: the amount of Armex used per m² is much lower than with other blasting means.
  • Safe for the user.
  • Armex is entirely soluble in water and does not harm the environment. Evacuating residual waste can be done at the client’s premises.
